'Doctor Who' Season 9, Episode 6: ‘Game of Thrones’ Star Maisie Williams Reappears as an Immortal, Might Return in Future Episodes

"Doctor Who" Season 9 Episode 6, titled "The Woman Who Lived," welcomes the reappearance of "Game of Thrones" actress Maisie Williams as the titular guest star.

Earlier reports speculated the return of Williams in the latest episode of BBC's hit sci-fi series. The 18-year-old actress first appeared in Episode 5, "The Woman Who Died," where she played the role of a Viking girl named Ashildr. The events in the fifth episode led to her death, but she was eventually resurrected by the Doctor (Peter Capaldi) and was endowed with immortality and power.

According to the official synopsis released by the network, the Doctor is transported to 1651 England and fights a deadly enemy. He comes face to face with the "The Nightmare" and his evil sidekick, and once again is laden by the difficult duty of saving England from the villain of the week.

In "Doctor Who" Season 9 Episode 6, Williams plays the role of a Restoration lady during the day and a fearsome highwayman at night. According to The Guardian, her character now goes by the name of "Me." As for the reason for her unusual name choice, the former Viking warrior explained: "All the other names I chose died with whoever knew me, Me is who I am now. Nobody's daughter, sister or mother, just Me."

Supposedly, Episode 6 would be Williams' character's final appearance in the story. But the "Game of Thrones" star expressed that she would be very happy to return in the series soon.

In an interview with BBC via Metro, the actress discussed her role on the famed cult-classic show. She said her character this week is different from Ashildre. "She has witnessed so much and lost so much and been through so much trauma that it has really changed her as a person."

"It's a wonderful episode and I'm so thrilled to have played both sides of her character," the GoT actress added.

"Doctor Who" Season 9 Episode 6 was aired on BBC One on Oct. 24, Saturday.
