'Destiny: The Taken King' Rumors: Poster Hints Focus will be on Osiris, Guardians to Explore Mercury; Sequel is More Like Expansion?

"Destiny: The Taken King" will have a sequel, which is rumored to be "Destiny 2: The Shattered Sun."

"Destiny," the highly acclaimed sci-fi RPG shooter game, and its developers, Bungie, has released the first expansion for the IP, "The Taken King" for over a month now. It may seem that the company is preparing itself for the second installment to the game which is rumored to be "Destiny 2: The Shattered Sun."

A post by a user from Reddit, retrieved by Tech Insider, contained information related to the expansion of "Destiny: The Taken King," which was still unreleased during the date of the post (July 27). There was also a second post containing interesting information and rumors about the game's sequel "Destiny 2: The Shattered Sun," that are yet to be confirmed.

In the repost by Reddit user The_Schnitz, the sequel for the game "Destiny" is said to be a "completely new game." Though the game will feature a new gameplay, a poster claims that the characters from the first installment of the franchise will remain playable in the sequel.

"Destiny 2: The Shattered Sun" rumors include the idea of a having a completely new game, which defeats the idea of it being a sequel to "Destiny." Other than that, it is looking that the said upcoming game is more of an expansion rather than a sequel, since it was already said that it is considering on having the same characters from "Destiny" playable. It can be considered a sequel if the story of both games connects with each other.

In other news, the original "Destiny 2" poster claims that it will be focusing on Osiris and his endeavors, as he is the main quest giver in the game. It also hinted that the planet Mercury will be the next planet the Guardians will explore, as the map shows in the sequel.

"Destiny 2: The Shattered Sun" is being planned to be released by September 2016, though there aren't any other news regarding the game or its release from the developer.
