'Assassin's Creed Syndicate' Spoiler: Game has a Huge and Surprising Secret

"Assassin's Creed Syndicate" has a major if the not the biggest surprise. This article comes with a warning that a huge spoiler is up ahead.

Last year, Ubisoft was bombarded by fans with so many questions about how "Assassin's Creed Unity" ended. Not to mention the protagonist being cast out of the French Revolution and catapulted into other time periods. Needless to say that "Assassin's Creed Unity" has one of the best stories in the "Assassin's Creed" series.

According to a Polygon reviewer, with respect to the story, "Syndicate" has a similar idea. But he added that in the map, there is an icon on the very edge of the river Thames which the game does not really draw attention to. The same icon or symbol showed up halfway through the game and it turned out to be a portal. A mission will be given and once accepted, the player is taken to the middle of World War I, granting control of Lydia Frye, who is presumed to be a descendant of one of Syndicate's protagonists, the twin siblings Jacob and Evie Frye.

According to a Polygon, unlike Unity's history-leaping levels, Lydia's World War I sequence seems to be full open-world area, though a small one, with its own collectibles and a fair set of missions. It can also be regarded as a stand-alone game hidden inside "Assassin's Creed Syndicate." It was strange that Ubisoft reportedly did not mention or did not talk about this "secret" prior to game release or neither was it mentioned during demos or shown in trailers.

"Assassin's Creed Syndicate" is the latest installment in the "Assassin's Creed" from Ubisoft. It was released on Oct. 23 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Microsoft Windows platforms.

To the Assassin's Creed Syndicate fans, anybody else who have been to Lydia's World War I sequence?
