Washington Redskins' wide receiver DeSean Jackson has listed his California home for sale at $1.799 million. The two-story home, with 3,800 square feet living space, has four bedrooms and four and one half baths.
According to L.A. Times, the house was originally built in 1951. Jackson bought the house in 2013 for $1.65 million and did major renovations. The house's exteriors feature a traditional American design. Inside, Jackson opted for a more ambiance.
The living room features dark wood floors, ornate chandeliers, and intricate crown moldings. The kitchen is equipped with chef-quality appliances and boasts of marble countertops. The master suite comes with its own fireplace, sitting room, study, huge en suite, and walk-in closet.
French doors open to a covered patio with an outdoor kitchen. Other amenities include a media room, swimming pool, eight-person spa, and a koi pond. There is also a detached guest house in the compound, perfect for visiting friends and relatives.
Security concerns may be the reason why the NFL player decided to sell his property. The listing comes after TMZ reported that a group of armed men broke into the house last Oct. 22. Jackson and his girlfriend were not in the property during the incident, but six people were inside and tried to fight the pistol-bearing burglars. One resident was reportedly injured and brought to the hospital after being hit with a gun.
Jackson, a three-time Pro Bowler, has played eight seasons in the NFL for Philadelphia and Washington. Last year, he had 56 catches with a league-best average of 20.9 yards per reception. The 28-year-old receiver is sitting out this season due to a shoulder injury. According to the official Redskins blog, he and his girlfriend welcomed their first child together last Sunday, Oct. 25.
