America's Next Top Model Cycle 22 former contestant Bello Sanchez is currently on the road to full recovery after suffering serious injuries from a tragic car accident on Oct. 19.
In the official statement Bello's camp released yesterday, Oct. 26, Sanchez got into the accident while driving his Infiniti G37 in the suburb of La Crescenta after a fashion show. Due to exhaustion and over-work from his intense schedule of fashion appearances in Los Angeles and Atlanta, he fell asleep at the wheel. "The car was totaled and he was found lying unconscious on the ground next to the driver's door after attempting to flee from the smoking car," said the statement.
He received head injuries and the doctors say it's a miracle the model is alive. "Had the airbags not deployed, the accident would have been fatal as Sanchez's head would have burst through the windshield," the statement further said. "He was alone in the car. With his face covered in blood and suffering from a concussion, he was taken by ambulance to a local hospital."
Bello Sanchez has been diagnosed with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder and Anterograde Amnesia, a condition that causes an inability to create new memories. He has also suffered facial abrasions and a shoulder injury.
