"Grimm" Season 5 premiers on Friday, Oct. 30, and Nick Burkhardt is set to show a vengeful version of himself.
The first episode of the fifth season is titled "The Grimm Identity" and the synopsis reads, "In the wake of his mother's beheading and Juliette's death, things have never been more chaotic for Nick (David Giuntoli). Having lost so much, Nick must dig deep and decide what type of person he wants to be, while also coming to grips with fathering a child with his once sworn enemy, Adalind (Claire Coffee). His search for the truth leads him to FBI Agent Chavez (guest star Elizabeth Rodriguez) and puts him at odds with those close to him."
It picks up where the fourth season left off, and that is when Nick's Juliette (Bitsie Tulloch) died in his arms. With his mother Kelly (Mary Elizabeth Mastrantonio) and his long-time love both dead, it is no wonder that Nick might lose the good side of him and start his journey towards seeking revenge. But he's going to do it alone, based on sneak peeks, as he withdraw from people close to him. The trailer shows he refused help from his best friends and he even got suspended from work.
The Grimm side of Nick is inevitably coming out with what he's been going through. But there's a glimpse of hope for him as he becomes a father to the baby Adalind (Claire Coffee). Giuntoli said at San Diego Comic Con 2015 round table press con, "I will say now that I love this kid a lot and that [Adalind] seems to love this kid a lot and that I will do anything for the kid. So we're in tandem in a certain way. I think, also, Nick's finally realized that it's time to move out of his house, and I'll tease that I'm probably going to take [my son] with me wherever I go."
