"Outlander" Season 2 is only months away from its return to the small screens and fans will finally see what happens next to Jamie Fraser and Claire Randall following the events from the first season of the Starz time traveler series. As we are getting closer to the show's season 2 premiere, author Diana Gabaldon recently spoke about the events that will take place in the upcoming season and shared her thoughts on Jamie and Black Jack Randall's rape scene.
"Outlander" Season 2 will see the return of Sam Heughan as Jamie Fraser, Caitriona Balfe as Claire Randall and Tobias Menzies as both Frank and Black Jack Randall. The upcoming season of the Starz series will be covering Diana Gabaldon's second book "Dragonfly in Amber," which will show Jamie and Claire's attempt to stop the Battle of Culloden.
In a recent interview, Gabaldon told Scotland Now (via Design & Trend) that the producers and writers have done a great job in adapting her book for the second season of "Outlander." The author also revealed during the interview that while she can identify a part of herself with most characters of her book, she relates to Heughan's character the most.
Gabaldon also revealed during the interview that she and Heughan constantly keep in touch with each other.
"We have very long, complex conversations on occasion -- other times, just a few words," she said.
Meanwhile, in another interview with Radio Times, Gabaldon spoke highly about Heughan and Menzies' critical scene from "Outlander" Season 1, which showed Black Jack torture Jamie in "Wentworth Prison." Gabaldon also revealed that such kind of rape scene between two men would not have made it to the television if it were shown 20 years ago.
"They filmed those scenes pretty much straight out of the book... this conflict which is actually a triangle you might say amongst Claire, Jamie and Black Jack Randall and you see it developing, the dimensions and aspects, through the entire story."
"Outlander" Season 2 is expected to premiere in March 2016 on Starz.
