The production of "Fifty Shades of Grey" sequel, "Fifty Shades Darker" is reportedly having delays due to lead actor Jamie Dornan.
"Fifty Shades Darker" production has experienced many setbacks for the past few months, including the hunt for a new director and actors to play new roles, but now there may be another cause of delay. A report by Movie News Guide stated that Dornan, who plays the enigmatic Christian Grey, requested to shoot the film at a later date.
Dornan and his wife Amelia Warner are expecting a second baby so the actor reportedly asked for some family time. The "Once Upon a Time" star plans to prepare for the coming of his new child and focus on his wife and child but it would be costing a disadvantageous effect on the film's timeline, according to reports.
"Fifty Shades Darker" is not set to start filming until right after the New Year but with this new development, it might be moved later than the original plan. Producers are also having difficulties in pre-production, according to Inquisitr. With all these delays, fans are said to be feeling anxious whether the "Fifty Shades of Grey" sequel will ever meet its target release on Feb. 10, 2017.
No actors have been cast yet for new characters such as Mrs. Robinson, Jack Hyde, Leila Williams and Elena Lincoln, all of whom will appear in the sequel and play vital roles in the story. There are rumors though that are linking hotshot actors to the film. The list includes Academy Award winner Charlize Theron who reportedly might play Mrs. Robinson, Ian Somerhalder, Henry Cavill, Alexis Bledel, Cara Delevigne and Theo James.
At this point though, it is unknown whether these celebrities have been offered to do the roles or if they are even interested in being a part of the film.
Meanwhile, the exit of "Fifty Shades of Grey" director Samantha Taylor-Johnson had production welcoming James Foley. The "House of Cards" director took on the role to helm the rest of the "Fifty Shades" franchise.
