Windows 10 will let non-genuine OS users to activate or upgrade to real copies.

Windows 10 is well-loved, which is why more users are now upgrading from Windows 8.1 to Windows 10, but pirated copies are also present. Microsoft, with its aim of making it more convenient for non-genuine users of Microsoft's operating system to get a legitimate Windows 10 license, now lets users upgrade from either Windows 7 or 8.1.

"A one-click opportunity to get Genuine via the Windows Store or by entering an activation code purchased elsewhere" is soon to be introduced by Microsoft, according to a Windows blog post. However, this new program will be for the United States only, at launch.

Once Microsoft has activated the one click experience, this article will be updated with the instructions on how to use it. For now, here's a guide on how pirates can finish their non-genuine Windows status by upgrading to Windows 10 and buying a license.

If you have used a cracking tool and a seemingly legitimate product key of Windows, then you can follow this tutorial.

All Windows non-genuine copy users should do is to use the updated tool given by Microsoft when upgrading to Windows 10 the normal way. You need to remember a number of essential things at this point. First and foremost, make sure that your version of Windows 10 corresponds with your previous Windows build. For example, if you are using either Windows 7 Home Premium or the old Windows 8.1, you would want to upgrade it to Windows 10 Home. However, if you currently use the Pro version, then you must upgrade it to Windows 10 Pro.

Windows users can then press skip if asked to enter the product key, as you can activate it later. If you are asked the same question, just hit the "do this later" button.

Now is the best time for you to have a legitimate Windows 10 license. Simply click the Start button and choose Settings. You can start navigating through the Update and Security > Activation.

The Windows Store app will be shown where you can purchase a legitimate Windows license, PC World reported.
