SK Telecom T1 emerged victorious over the weekend in the League of Legends 2015 World Championship.
According to IGN, the all Korean team conquered the other team from Korea, the KOO Tigers at the championship held in Mercedes-Benz Arena, Berlin, Germany. Moreover, SK Telecom T1 is said to be the first ever team to be two-time Championship winners.
It was previously reported that the two Korean team finalists topped European teams Origen (Spain) and Fanatic (EU) at the semi-finals of the 2015 World Championship that was held in Brussels, Belgium.
According to Polygon, SK Telecom T1 deafeted Koo Tigers 3-1 in the best of five championship match. Many have predicted this victory but the championship did not go without any drama that made fans hold on to the edge of their seats.
SK Telecom T1 won the first round, but they made some serious mistakes in game two which gave the Koo Tigers some hope that they could win the championship, luckily they picked up during late game and won again. The third game was sensational with the Koo Tigers playing more aggressive than they did in the first two games. According to Polygon, Koo Tigers were snowballing an early advantage into a game that SK Telecom could not take back.
SK Telecom T1 lost the third game, but the learned from their mistakes quickly. SK Telecom's loss reportedly was one of the biggest surprises of the 2015 World Championship and the one with the greatest game drama. Though they did not win the Championship in a seamless 3-0 record, they did emerge as the champions. Moreover they are the first team to win two Summoner's Cups in the League of Legends World Championship.
On the other hand, the Koo Tigers may not have beaten them in the championship but they are the only team to have beaten SK Telecom T1 once in this year's series.
