"Desperate Housewives" cast member Marcia Cross joins the ABC series "Quantico."
The 53-year-old actress returns to her TV roots with the breakthrough new series "Quantico." She was last seen in her famous role as Bree Van Camp in "Desperate Housewives," which ended in 2012.
According to Deadline, Cross will take on the role of the "ambitious" Claire, the mother of analyst Caleb Haas (Graham Rogers) She is now running as a candidate for the Vice President position after her successful career transition. She was an agent for the FBI before she ventured to politics as a senator.
Meanwhile, Mark Pellegrino ("Supernatural") will play as FBI Deputy Director Clayton Haas. He is the husband of Cross' character. It was revealed that Clayton has an affair with one of their recruits.
Cross' major recurring role in "Quantico" was first teased as a spoiler via Entertainment Weekly's "Spoiler Room." It was revealed by "Quantico" showrunner Josh Safran.
"We will be introducing Caleb's mom and [Clayton's] wife in the near future," Safran said.
The outlet also reported that ABC ordered three more additional episode to the high-rated freshman series. According to TV Line, the network recently gave the full-season pickup with 19 episodes. To date, "Quantico" has 22 episodes for Season 1. It is the second freshman series to get a full-season order in this TV season after NBC's "Blindspot."
"Quantico" revolves around FBI agent Alex Parrish who is wrongly accused as a terrorist. She is now on a mission to stay alive and find out the true terrorist who framed her. It stars Priyanka Chopra, Josh Hopkins ("Cougar Town"), Jake McLaughlin ("Believe"), Aunjanue Ellis ("True Blood"), Yasmine Al Massri ("Crossbones"), Johanna Braddy ("UnReal"), Tate Ellington ("The Good Wife"), Graham Rogers ("Revolution") and Anabelle Acosta ("Ballers").
"Quantico" airs on Sundays on ABC.
