The NBC freshman series "Blindspot" already aired three episodes since its successful debut and it seems that NBC is quite happy about it. Now, the network has ordered an additional nine episodes, making it into a full season.
According to Deadline, "Blindspot," which originally have 13 episodes, will now have 22 for its season run. The news made the series as the first-ever freshman series from the 2015-2016 lineup to have a full season order.
The full season order announcement came from its explosive run since its premiere on Sept. 21. As of now, it garnered an average of 2.7 rating in adults 18 to 49 and 9.6 million viewers overall. After garnering less than 5 million viewers for its first two episodes, "Blindspot" continues to perform as a current top-rated series in the current TV programming.
"Blindspot" follows the story of an unknown tattooed woman, who goes by the name Jane Doe (Jaimie Alexander), who was found inside a duffel bag by the FBI. It was revealed that she has been under a drug-induced amnesia, that's why she can't remember her past life.
Her connection with her past resurfaced in Special Agent Kurt Weller (Sullivan Stapleton). As a young Taylor Shaw in the past, Jane lived nearby Kurt's house before she vanished and was thought dead. Now, Jane and Kurt works together in solving the mysteries of her past through the tattoos on her body.
Created by writer/executive producer Martin Gero, "Blindspot" stars Sullivan Stapleton (Agent Kurt Weller), Jaimie Alexander (Jane Doe/Taylor Shaw), Rob Brown (Agent Edgar Reade), Audrey Esparza (Agent Tasha Zapata), Ashley Johnson (Patterson), Ukweli Roach (Dr. Borden) and Marianne Jean-Baptiste (Bethany Mayfair). Gero is joined by Sarah Schechter and pilot direct Mark Pellington as executive producers. "Blindspot" is produced by Warner Bros. Television and Berlanti Productions.
