'Project Runway' Mentor Tim Gunn Disses the Kardashians: 'Vulgar, Distasteful, and Yuck!' [VIDEO]

Tim Gunn, widely known as the supportive and encouraging fashion guru in "Project Runway," has a very strong opinion against the Kardashians, and he's not afraid to share it.

Speaking with HuffPost Live last Thursday, Nov. 5, the 62-year-old fashion consultant said, "When it comes to fashion I say to people all the time, 'If you want guidance for your fashion just consider this: If a Kardashian is wearing it, don't.'"

Gunn went on to say that the famous reality family is not a good example to women in general. "I think it's vulgar and I just think given the amount of public exposure that the Kardashians have, to potentially be sending a message to people that 'you too can dress like this' - no," he said.

Although Gunn didn't particularly call out Kim Kardashian or matriarch Kris Jenner, he did specifically point out Kim's husband, musician Kanye West. West has his own multi-million dollar clothing line called "Yeezy."

"I think they're a bunch of dumb clothes," he said. "Just basic pieces. He won't [like the critique], but let me tell you, the whole Kardashian clan doesn't like me, so no surprise there."

Last September, West debuted his Yeezy 2 collection, which featured oversized jackets, nude tights, sweats, and rubber shoes. Some fashion critics, like Gunn, also gave him negative comments, but the rapper fired back.

"I was so happy to just show so many sweatshirts. It's as simple as that. I think sweatshirts are the way of the future. Sweatshirts are important," West said in an interview with Vanity Fair. "That might sound like the funniest quote ever. But they are. Just mark my words."

As for Kendall Jenner, the 20-year-old Kardashian-Jenner sibling who is currently one of the hottest up and coming supermodels, Gunn seemed to not care.

"She may be a perfectly lovely young woman," he said. "[But] I just feel that she's tainted by the Kardashian aura of yuck!"

Jenner has graced hundreds of fashion shows in her young career, and has walked for high-end brands such as Chanel, Givenchy and Marc Jacobs. She is scheduled to walk for the first time at the Victoria's Secret fashion show this year.

So far, the Kardashians have not given any comment about the "Project Runway" mentor's critique. Their hit reality series, "Keeping Up With the Kardashians," will premiere its season 11 on Sunday, Nov. 15 on E!
