Samsung Galaxy S7, the next flagship phone in Samsung's Galaxy series, is rumored to come cheaper than the Galaxy S6 and feature a 20mp camera. But users might wait a little longer before they could get their hands on the product.
The South Korean tech giant initially was reported to release the new Samsung Galaxy S7 in January next year. However, a new report surfaced saying that Samsung will be releasing the mobile phone model in February 2016.
A Korean Samsung Electronics official said (via The Bitbag), "Galaxy S7 is about to be released in early February next year."
Apart from the release date, what people are anticipating and speculating about the Samsung Galaxy S7 is its specs. According to Android Headlines, there are rumors that instead of sporting a camera similar to Sony's IMX300, DSLR quality sensors, the mobile phone model will have a 20-megapixel camera instead. It has also been speculated that the Galaxy S7 will support RAW images, similar to the LG V10's feature.
Other rumored features include curved screen, a 4k screen and the Force Touch technology. The S7 is claimed to also have the Cat 12 LTE which is supported by not just the Exynos 8990 processor but the Qualcomm Snapdragon as well.
Another important factor that needs to be addressed is the price of the upcoming flagship phone. The high end line of the Samsung brand as of late has sported quite expensive phones. Notably, the company has been struggling to increase their sales recently having to compete with Apple, Huawei and Xiaomi, according to CNET.
Pan Jiutang, an analyst based in China, stated that the price of the Samsung Galaxy S7 might be 10% percent lesser than that of the Galaxy S6. If this pushes through, the Samsung flagship's sales might get back to its old vigor, especially in India where the price of Apple iPhone 6S Plus is too expensive for regular customers.
