Eric Schmidt, chairman of Google, has reportedly purchased a palatial residence right next to Hugh Hefner's famous Playboy Mansion in Los Angeles for $22 million.
According to the New York Post, Schmidt snagged a slight discount on the purchase. The residence at 539 S Mapleton Dr, L.A., was initially listed for $24.99 million. This residence belonged to late actor Gregory Peck's widow, Veronique Peck. Mrs. Peck passed away in 2012 and the home came up on the market, August 2013.
Listing records at Zillow state that the mansion is a 9182 square feet single family-multi winged residence sitting on a prime 1.31 acre lot. Comprising of seven bedrooms and nine bathrooms, the double story house features plush interiors.
Mixed flooring and high drywall ceilings with large glass doors and windows make up the insides. Exclusive living spaces include two powder rooms, a formal dining area, an office and guest suites.
Outside, the home has manicured gardens, a swimming pool, a lounge area and ample parking area.
