Having the two biggest DC superheroes fighting against each other, it can be easier to assume that the latest "Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice" in the DC Extended Universe is beasty even before it gets to the release. Many speculated that this movie could be the most expensive in history.
With the "Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice" shooting schedule being extended, it has already incurred budget increase, generating more footage as the film moves into post-production. Based in an interview with the film's producer, it appears that the film could be receiving even bigger with the possibility of a director's cut.
Charles Roven hinted during his interview with Collider about the possibility of much extended cut of BvS. As fans' growing curiosity and eagerness to see any extended look at Batman and Superman's debut appearance over the big screen, Roven hinted audience are in for a much bigger and better surprises. Particularly for those who are prepared to sit through every single span of footage captured by Zack Snyder.
Although that can't possibly be an official confirmation just yet, Roven does seem to tease the likelihood. However, the only questions of whether that much extended version would be hitting the cinemas like what 'X-Men: Days of Future Past" had or consigned to the DVD or Blu-Ray release will have to wait.
An extended cut could mean a superior story and characters, like Peter Jackson offered in his Lord of The Rings extended edition. The enhanced critical and fan reception of Snyder's own extended cut of Watchmen, a director's cut of Dawn of Justice would lend a brighter side, if the film isn't quite what fans expect. With a vast cast and hours of footages, hopefully the final version of BvS will not be overshadowed by doing too much in one movie.
