The latest "Jessica Jones" updates, which include the buss behind Jessica's "Jewel" costume in the comic books, new series poster, and the second full-length teaser, were released ahead of its Season 1 premiere on Netflix.
There have been speculations on whether Krysten Ritter, who plays as Jessica Jones in the upcoming Netflix series, will wear the superhero costume of her comic book counterpart or not.
According to Marvel, Jessica took the identity of "Jewel" while working on several less stellar cases during her career as a superheroine. It never pushed through as her longtime battle with Purple Man really took a toll on her and her superhero status. She ended up shelving her suit in order to become a private detective.
TV Guide finally answered the wishes of every "Jessica Jones" fan as the outlet announced about a scene featuring a conversation about the famed jewel-toned costume. Ritter is seen wearing mostly black clothing including her signature leather jacket and boots in the series of teaser trailers and posters.
The outlet shared that a "flashback scene" will feature Jessica and her best friend Trish Walker (Rachel Taylor). Trish tries to convince Jessica about suiting up properly similar to the Spandex-clad superheroes. However, our Marvel heroine continues to show her "I don't care" attitude by shutting down her friend's suggestion.
Meanwhile, Comicbook reported about the latest poster from Netflix. It shows "Doctor Who" star David Tennant, who plays as Kilgrave/Purple Man, in the act of whispering something to Ritter's character. The poster is a nod to the second full-length trailer of "Jessica Jones," which was released on Tuesday, Nov. 10 on YouTube.
After introducing the characters in the first trailer, the new trailer showcases her relationship with Kilgrave. It was said that Tennant's character has the ability of mind control. She is seen trying to get out of the villain's control while the people from her life began to doubt her story and the guy's existence. She then decides to take on a mission to kill him instead. Her plan backfires as Kilgrave began controlling other people's minds around her.
All of 13 episodes of "Jessica Jones" Season 1 will premiere on Friday, Nov. 20, at 12:01 a.m. on Netflix.
