'The Young and The Restless' Cast & Spoilers: Is Justin Hartley Leaving the Show?

Justin Hartley has just landed a role in a new primetime series, but "The Young and The Restless" fans are worried the actor might not be able to handle two shows and quit his role in the soap opera.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Hartley is joining a new, unnamed NBC series starring Mandy Moore and Milo Ventimiglia. The series is said to be a "dramedy," which will follow characters who share the same exact birthday. Hartley is said to play as Kevin, "a handsome and successful television actor with an underlining boredom in his ultimate bachelor life."

While the new primetime series is yet to film and release an air date, fans are wondering how Hartley's current role in "Y&R" will be affected. The actor plays Adam Newman, a central character in the daily soap opera.

Celebrity Dirty Laundry pointed out that actor Billy Miller, who used to play as Billy Abbott in the show, was previously forced to resign by "Y&R" executive producer Jill Farren Phelps. The forced resignation came after Miller accepted a small part in the movie "American Sniper."

Could the same fate happen to Hartley? Will the actor choose a primetime role over the long-running soap opera?

Meanwhile, Hartley has just recently celebrated his first anniversary in "Y&R." His character is said to be going through more revelations.

Enstarz reported that a new character will be making a huge impact on Adam's future in the show. Adam has just made an appeal on his case, and judge Elise Moxley (played by Jensen Buchanan) has entered the scene to make a decision.

Christine (Lauralee Bell) was delighted with this new progress, as the judge is known for sticking to the law.

"I'm just so thrilled you're on the Newman appeal," she tells the judge. "I couldn't ask for a more qualified judge to hear the case."

But fans can expect another scheme lurking behind the corner. According to Soaps She Knows, this could be another ploy of Victor (Eric Braeden), who is planning to take the Abbotts down by using Adam.

"The Young and The Restless" airs weekdays, 12:30 p.m. ET on CBS.
