"Wonder Woman" has found a new actor to add to its cast, French actor Said Taghmaoui.
Taghmaoui is the new addition to the DC superhero movie, Comicbook stated. Taghmaoui said in an interview that he will be playing a superhero but could not say anything more because the creators were not keen on divulging too much information regarding the film. The "American Hustle" actor was also seen on a set picture beside Chris Pine, who is playing Steve Trevor in the comic book film.
In the said photo, the "G.I. Joe" actor is wearing a circa World War II outfit. In another photo, his chair was pictured alongside Pine's and Gal Gadot's, who is playing the lead role as Wonder Woman. Taghmaoui deleted the photos soon after, since people from Warner Bros. were allegedly unhappy that some filming pictures had surfaced, Screen Crush reported.
Earlier this month, there were reports linking Nicole Kidman to the film, where she was rumored to play the role of Hippolyta, the Amazon Queen and Wonder Woman's mother. However, it has been speculated since then that Kidman might not be able to join the cast as the filming would be in conflict with the production of her HBO limited series, titled "Big Little Lies." The Academy Award winning actress is set to produce and star in the series alongside Reese Witherspoon.
No other actor is being linked to the "Wonder Woman" movie as of the moment but fans already know that Zack Snyder, the director of "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice," is the one helming this film.
"Wonder Woman," just like all the other slated DC superhero films, will be a prequel to "Batman v Superman." With the rumors regarding the film's plot circulating, it would seem that the film will show the origins of Diana/Wonder Woman. It has also been said that the main villain of the female superhero is the God of War, Ares.
With the production already underway, there seems to be no hitch to the target release of "Wonder Woman" in 2017.
