Many was revealed during the footage of Nintendo Direct announcements but unlike its other games, Nintendo has a dedicated broadcast for the all-time favorite for Nintendo 3DS and Wii U "Super Smash Bros."
According to Polygon, the Nintendo Direct announcements that will be dedicated to the arcade-style fighting game would be both its first and last since the death of its President Satoru Iwata in July. Moreover, "Super Smash Bros." reportedly has had three especially dedicated Nintendo Direct announcements with the last one done ahead of the E3 event in June, a month before the president's departure.
That Direct introduced the arrival of Lucas, Ryu and Roy as new characters to "Super Smash Bros." In December Nintendo will hold another Direct, a last one for the game. To clarify confusion, it does not mean the end of the game, but rather just the last time Nintendo will have a special Direct for one game.
As previously reported, "Super Smash Bros." for 3DS and Wii U will be welcoming "Final Fantasy VIII's" Cloud Strife as the latest addition to its cast of characters. In the Nintendo Direct that was released last week, a trailer showing the Ultima-bearer's gameplay in "Super Smash Bros." was shown, as well as Midgar the city from "Final Fantasy 7." The trailer ended with a Mii Fighter wearing a Chocobo costume.
Now fans are wondering what Nintendo will announce in the December "Super Smash Bros." Direct. According to Polygon, it is likely that Nintendo will share the results of the poll that was conducted in from April to October for fans to vote for their favorite characters that maybe included in the game. When the addition of "Cloud Strife" was made last Thursday, it was not mentioned if it was the result of the poll so many are still hopeful that the company will announce another character.
