Cloud Strife From 'Final Fantasy 7' Fights With His Ultima Again in 'Super Smash Bros.'

"Final Fantasy VII" was one of the best games for PlayStation in the 90's and its main protagonist Cloud Strife, who also appeared in the Kingdom Hearts series, and his Ultima weapon was unforgettable. Now, 18 years after he was first introduced, he is making another grand entrance.

According to IGN, the Ultima-bearing protagonist Cloud Strife will be joining the list of playable characters for "Super Smash Bros." for 3DS and Wii U. In addition, Nintendo Direct has released a trailer demonstrating Cloud's signature moves including limit breaks and Odin summon. Cloud also comes with another costume based on his looks in computer-animated fantasy film "Advent Children."

Based on the trailer, the "Final Fantasy VII" city Midgar will also be featured in "Super Smash Bros." At the end of the 3-minute trailer the Mii Fighters are seen wearing Chocobo costumes. The launch dates for the Cloud or the Midgar stage have yet to be announced. Back at E3 2015 it was announced that every single character in Super Smash Bros. will have their own amiibo figurine, but according to IGN there are no details about Cloud's amiibo yet.

And in another news, "Final Fantasy 7" will be getting a remake. Thus we will be seeing more of Cloud Strife. Unfortunately, according to IGN, Final Fantasy VII remake will not have an updated version of the FF VII theme songs made by composer Nobuo Uematsu. Though Nobuo Uematsu is mostly responsible for the musical scores in many "Final Fantasy" games, those he made for "Final Fantasy 7" are considered most memorable. Uematsu has admitted to IGN that "One Winged Angel" from Final Fantasy VII was one of the tracks he was very delighted with.

In a Twitter post by Jeuxvideo.com, the caption was in French and translated it says that Uematsu has replied, "not at all!" after the asked if he would be involved in the "Final Fantasy 7" remake.
