Android 6.0 Marshmallow Arrives to Lenovo K3 Note, A7000, A7000 Plus Soon; No Update for Those Under Contracts

Lenovo users will be experiencing the latest Android 6.0 Marshmallow in September 2016. The announcement was made in Lenovo's Android Upgrade Matrix page and will include its popular models such as the K3 Note, A7000 and A7000 Plus.

Lenovo Vibe P1 and Vibe S1 will also be having its Android 6.0 Marshmallow update and will hit the devices by June 2016. The S1 is currently on 5.0 Lollipop while the P1 is on a 5.1 Lollipop version. The two Lenovo smartphones are scheduled earlier than the other models on the matrix page which are A7000, A7000 Plus and the K3 Note, Android Authority reported.

It is equally important to know that according to the official statement of Lenovo, the smartphones that have a personalized version of the operators or which are under contracts will not be receiving any Android updates.

In general, this statement will definitely make several Lenovo smartphone owners disappointed. The scheduled release date of the Marshmallow update is still too far away. Lenovo, the Chinese tech giant, should have thought about this earlier on. When the time comes that the Android 6.0 is ready for release, Google's Android N could have been announced already, according to a report by GSM Arena.

While owners of Lenovo's Vibe S1, Vibe P1, K3 Note, A7000 and A7000 Plus are quietly waiting until September 2016 arrives, owners of competitors' smartphones are already enjoying Android 6.0 Marshmallow. Phone giants such as Samsung, Motorola, Sony and Huawei, as well as other smartphone manufacturers have already rolled out the latest Android OS to their respective devices. It is also said that Google's latest mobile OS is already installed on 0.3 percent of all Android smartphones.

Lenovo smartphone models are scheduled for an Android 6.0 Marshmallow update. All other Lenovo users who have smartphones that were not mentioned are hoping that there will be more to come.
