Apple Music Launches on Android, 4.3 Jelly Bean or Higher Operating System is Required; Challenges its Rivals, Spotify and Google Music

Music streaming enthusiasts are getting more excited now that Apple Music has made its music services available to Android. The famous iPad and iPhone app, Apple Music, launches on Android, allowing Android users to listen to the tunes through Apple iTunes. However, in order to enjoy this app, your phone should have the Android 4.3 Jelly Bean operating system or higher versions of OS.

Stuart Dredge from The Guardian has quoted Eddy Cue, the boss of Apple's services, saying "We wanted it to be for everyone." Apart from that, Cue also added that Apple has developed this new music app according to the design principles of Android. "It's a full native app, so it will feel like an Android app. The menus will look like Android. It'll definitely feel very much like an Android app," he stated.

Apart from that, he also added some instances behind the company's decision to develop the app for Android. Cue said that one of the reasons behind this is Apple's intention of luring Android users to encourage Android fanatics to switch to iOS devices the next time they decide to get a new tablet or smartphone, or in case they want to upgrade their devices.

Another reason for Android users to love this music app is the budget-friendly family price plan. The Apple Music services for this app is priced at $14.99, which is pretty much appealing to most families who have Android gadgets.

Last but not the least, and is considered as the most convincing reason, is that Apple cannot just take for granted the in-demand platform that boast over one billion active users from different parts of the world. Dredge even pointed out that both Pandora and Spotify have over 100 million downloads and are way behind the Google Play Music app which boasts over 1 billion downloads for Android.

More so, Stephanie Mlot also stated the requirements for the Apple Music beta app, and that it must run on Android devices.
