"Days of Our Lives" is looking for a new face to add to their show. According to recent spoilers, the soap's producers have previously announced a casting call for the contract role of "Val." The role requires a female actress to be young--not more than 25 years old, Caucasian and "gorgeous." Aside from looks, Val is described to be "passionate, intelligent, and sensitive."
Adding a new youthful character to its mix of cast will be timely for "DOOL." As previous rumors suggest, 28-year-old actress Kate Mansi might be exiting the show very soon. Mansi, whose contract ends in December, plays Abigail Deveraux in the series.
Abigail is currently pregnant in the story, and spoilers suggest she will tragically lose her baby soon, which will result to her insanity. She will have to check into a mental institution, hence, her exit. Either that, or the character could be simply killed off. A promo video shows Abigail and Chad being tied in a bed and Ben setting it ablaze before taking off with their baby.
However, recent spoilers suggest that newcomer Val is actually Abigail in disguise. According to Celebrity Dirty Laundry, "DOOL" has been known to change names in previous casting calls to keep information under wraps. Either Val could be a recast version of Abigail, or she is Abigail pretending to be someone else.
If the rumors are to be believed, then "DOOL" is definitely cooking a big surprise for its viewers as it enters its 51st year. The actress who will get the role of Val is said to begin taping in December and will be introduced to the soap in May.
Kate Mansi debuted in "Days of Our Lives" in 2011. Her credits include "Muse" (2015) and "How I Met Your Mother" (2008).
"Days of Our Lives" airs Mondays to Fridays, 1 p.m. on NBC.
