After the breathtaking two-hour special, viewers need to be ready for "Once Upon a Time" season 5, episode 10 as Hook becomes the Dark One.
In the upcoming episode titled "Broken Heart," Storybrooke will have to deal with two Dark Ones, Emma (Jennifer Morrison) and Hook (Colin O'Donoghue). It will be recalled that in episode 8, Hook had a sword fight against Arthur (Liam Garrigan), where the one-hand man got wounded courtesy of Excalibur. He would have died but when he was bleeding out, Emma leashed him to Excalibur to save his life. As a result, Hook became a Dark One, too.
According to Carter Matt, being a Dark One would make Hook feel the thirst for revenge and everyone knows who caused the misery in his life, Rumplestiltskin/Mr. Gold (Robert Carlyle). By now Mr. Gold has become a hero, but has not yet mastered the art of being a hero. It would be interesting to find out what he would do once the love of his life, Belle (Emilie de Ravine), gets into another danger. A Hook vs Mr. Gold scenario seems to be looming and unavoidable, only this time, their roles are switched.
Having his revenge on Mr. Gold does not seem like a surprising move from Hook. What is mind-boggling though is what he is planning against Emma. In the video preview for episode 10, Hook is shown telling Emma that he wants to hurt her like she hurt him. The scene then focused on Emma shedding a tear. It is curious to know as to what extent Hook will go through to inflict pain on Emma. Will Emma's heart get broken?
Meanwhile, iDigital Times wrote that Regina (Lana Parrilla) and Emma will have a stronger friendship in the coming episodes since it is only the former who could really understand what Emma is going through. Like the Dark Swan, Regina was torn between doing good and evil once when she was still the Evil Queen.
"Once Upon a Time" season 5, episode 10 will be aired on ABC on Nov. 29 at 8PM ET.
