N7 Day Holiday Trailer for 'Mass Effect Andromeda' Leaks Possible Protagonist Name

As previously reports, fans still seem to be hoping to see the famous "Mass Effect" protagonist after the N7 holiday trailer of the upcoming "Mass Effect Andromeda" was shared, despite the several attempts of the developers at Bioware to stress that Commander Shepard will not be returning for "Mass Effect Andromeda."

Now fans can stop speculating on Shepards return as the recently released new "Mass Effect Andromeda" could have revealed a new protagonist. According to Eurogamer, a group of "Mass Effect" fans have taken to Reddit to share their theory on the new protagonists name based on what they have seen from the game's latest trailer released during Mass Effect franchise's annual N7 Day Holiday.

If you take a closer look at the video paused at around the mark of 0:44, there is a dog tag at the left most corner, on the cockpit's dashboard. Which when zoomed appears to have the name "Ryder". This this a certain Reddit user R/Benelioto has theorize that it was the name of a new protagonist, writing "The dogtag says RYDER/RIDER, which is probably a reference to Sally Ride, the first American woman in space."

He added, "This follows naturally from naming Commander Shepard after Alan, the first American man in space. I think we just learned the name of the new protagonist guys."

According to Design and Trend, the background music could have also help the Reddit user in formulating such theory. The music's titles was "Ghost Riders in the Sky," and most believe that it was a little out of tune for the Sci-fi game unless it was actually suggesting something.

Besides clearing out speculations of Shepard's return in "Mass Effect Andromeda" BioWare is keeping a tight lid on other details. Whatever the name would turn out to be, at least the fans know so far that "Mass Effect: Andromeda" will be released next year on PS4, Xbox One and Microsoft Windows.
