‘Blade Runner 2’ Cast News & Update: Ryan Gosling Confirmed to Join Harrison Ford in Ridley Scott's Movie Sequel

After earlier reports and speculations, Ryan Gosling has been confirmed to star in "Blade Runner 2," the sequel to Ridley Scott's classic sci-fi film.

According to Collider, Gosling has already confirmed his participation in "Blade Runner 2" after being rumored to be in negotiations with the production. During his interview, the 35-year-old star said, "There's a chip in me and if I say anything more I'll explode if I say anything else."

"The Notebook" star seemed to want to say more about the upcoming film but restrained himself. He did confirm though that "Blade Runner 2" might be the next movie he will film.

While the actor refused to divulge further information about the upcoming film, rumors say he will be playing the main role since Harrison Ford, the lead star in the first "Blade Runner" film, is only set to appear starting on the third act.

Not a lot of announcements have been made so far for this sequel to Scott's 1982 sci-fi movie, except that Gosling will co-star with the original "Blade Runner" main lead, Ford. Still, as early as now Scott has already dropped hints as to how the "Blade Runner" sequel would start, Screen Rant wrote.

The famed movie director revealed that the opening will include a scene at an expensive plowed factory farm with dry dirt, where the action takes place. "Behind it at a distance of two miles, in the twilight, is this massive combine harvester that's fertilizing this ground..," the 77-year-old filmmaker said. In the end, Scott encouraged fans to watch the film to see the rest of it.

The script for "Blade Runner 2" is said to have been completed since 2014. Denis Villeneuve of "Sicario" is confirmed to direct, while Roger Deakins will handle cinematography. The filming of the movie will not start until summer of 2016.
