'Gambit' Movie News: Distinct Flavor From Other X-Men Films; Simon Kinberg Describes It a Heist & Sexy Thriller

X-men's "Gambit" will soon have its own stand alone movie. Producer Simon Kinberg says it will have a distinct flavor from other X-men films. In fact, the producer describes it as a heist and sexy thriller.

The Mary Sue reports that contrary to the usual X-men movies which are "dramatic and almost operatic," the movie "Gambit" is heading to a different direction. As the creators cast Channing Tatum, who is known for being sex symbol in "Magic Mike" movies, producer Simon Kinberg seemed to associate his lead actor to how sexy it could get the upcoming movie of X-men character Remy Etienne LeBeau .

In the report of Comic Book Resources, it states that "Gambit" movie will also be different from the "Deadpool" movie. According to the director, Deadpool is "irreverent and hysterical and sort of a dirty R-rated comedy in many ways."

During the said interview, Simon Kinberg also said that they already have a director who will helm "Gambit." Kinberg did not disclosed the name because he was not certain if it is already okay to reveal who the director is, since the deal is not made yet. The last thing Kinberg said about the person is that they're excited about him, and he is also some the producer adored.

The report also mentions about Channing Tatum already promoting his upcoming film "Gambit." He first promoted in San Diego Comic-Con International 2015, as part of 20th Century Fox's Hall H presentation last October.

It is obvious that Channing is very enthusiastic of the X-men character. In fact, his exuberance over Remy Etienne LeBeau is way back before the he is cast as mutant thief. "He's set to produce "Gambit" along with his production partner Reid Carolin, and X-Men film franchise veteran Lauren Shuler Donner and Simon Kinberg."

Cinema Blend states that it is crucial that the stand alone film of "Gambit" has to have its own feel instead of reusing previous stories, tone, and other elements of X-men films. It is noted that this movie is not about "saving the world."
