Two of X-men characters are getting a TV series in two different channels of Fox. In a press release, it has been officially announced that Fox will have "Hellfire" while FX will air soon "Legion."
According to Comic Book, FX cable network is now working on "Legion" as a new TV series. The upcoming show will feature David Haller, the son of Professor X, from the Marvel Comics lore. Report says that Noah Hawley, the showrunner of Fargo, will be the show's producer. The official description of the upcoming TV series adaptation of X-men character reads "Since he was a teenager, David has struggled with mental illness. Diagnosed as schizophrenic, David has been in and out of psychiatric hospitals for years. But after a strange encounter with a fellow patient, he's confronted with the possibility that the voices he hears and the visions he sees might be real."
In Marvel comics lore, Legion is the character created by Chris Claremont and Bill Sienkiewicz. This character first appeared in 1985 in "X-men" comics #25 issue entitled "New Mutants." If remembered, "Legion" played a "key role as the catalyst of the "Age of Apocalypse" storyline, and starred in the recent "X-Men: Legacy" series."
As for "Hellfire," Deadline says that the series will be set in the late 1960. The storyline of the TV series " follows a young Special Agent who learns that a power-hungry woman with extraordinary abilities is working with a clandestine society of millionaires - known as "The Hellfire Club" - to take over the world."
The show will be produced by 20th Century Fox TV and Marvel Television. It is also reported that 20th Century Fox will handle the physical production of "Hellfire."
As of press time, there are no further details of the upcoming shows of these two X-men characters. There are no mention of the lead casts. The official press release has only mentioned that "Hellfire" is in development for Fox and "Legion" for FX cable network.
