‘Star Wars the Force Awakens' Updates: TV Spot Hints New Face of Luke Skywalker for the Next Generation

Fans are trying to contain their excitement as more trailers are being released. The trailer rolled out last Sunday showing a 31-second clip of the much awaited "Star Wars: The Force Awakens." Theories were confirmed about the involvement of Rey (Daisy Ridley) being somehow due to her connection with the heroes from the previous fourth to sixth episodes of George Lucas' saga. But fans also noticed one important key character missing: Luke Skywalker. But in this latest release, many also noticed that Finn (played by John Boyega) is being set up as the latest generation of Skywalker.

In a report by The TV Spot released on Wednesday, the trailer is said to center on the latest characters as Finn attempts to expound on his past probably being a Stormtrooper. Since John Boyega did appear in a Stormtrooper garb in an older trailer, it is easy to assume that he started as an army of the First Order before joining Solo (Harrison Ford) and the rebels in the latest adventure.

The actor revealed previously to Hollywood Reporter that the director described his character as the latest main guy in the franchise where Hamill used to be for the trilogy. Currently, the new series of teasers from TV Spot are fixing that idea into the fans' consciousness by establishing key similarities concerning the two characters. This could easily be noticed in Finn igniting the blue lightsaber during a draw with another Stormtrooper. The opponent seen in the teaser looks to have a new weapon matching a light saber. The Verge also noted that since Finn started as a Stormtrooper, the section may hold implications like Luke's fight in Dagobah while in preparation with Yoda to becoming a Jedi.

People may consider it as a mere coincidence but it is easy to notice the striking similarities. Fans may also have their own theories but we can only wait and see.
