Design
While both have AMOLED displays that pack a resolution of 1,440 x 2,560 pixels, there's more that looks sharp and deeper in the color display. The Galaxy Note 5 has a bigger screen of 5.7 inches as compared to the Priv's 5.4 inch display.
Under The Hood
Both Samsung and Blackberry handsets run on the Android 5.1.1 Lollipop OS, and both can also be upgraded to the Android 6.0 Marshmallow. Both are also equipped with 32GB as native storage space. The Galaxy Note 5 is powered by the Exynos 7420 processor and comes with 4GB of RAM, and in 32GB and 64GB storage variants.
The BlackBerry Priv is powered by a Snapdragon 808 SoC and 3GB of RAM with a 32GB native storage. It supports a microSD card expansion.
Camera, Battery
The Galaxy Note 5 sports a solid 16-megapixel rear-facing sensor with OIS support in addition to a 5-megapixel selfie-clicker with regular LED flash.
The BlackBerry Priv, on the other hand, houses a stunning 18-megapixel Schneider-Kreuznach camera unit with OIS support and a 2-megapixel front-facing snapper. The Priv also carries a dual-LED flash.
Miscellaneous
The Galaxy Note 5 houses a fingerprint sensor. It also has an advanced S Pen stylus along with the device.
The BlackBerry handset doesn't have a fingerprint sensor but features a capacitive 4-row BlackBerry keyboard.
