Many fans were outraged when rumors surrounding "Girl Meet World" cancellation made rounds on the Internet. According to She Knows, a certain article suggested on the Disney series' cancellation after only two seasons on TV because of declining ratings as well as the fact that the network has not yet released an official renewal order for the said show.
"Girl Meets World" experienced a drop in ratings during its latest episode, which "drew a 0.45 rating in the adults 18-49 demographics, a 0.47 adults 18-34 rating, and a viewership total of 2.145 million." This is a bit lower than last week's ratings, which was said to gain a viewership mark of 2.504 million. The outlet noted, however, that decisions to renew or cancel a series are not based on one week's ratings alone.
Indeed, rumors surrounding "Girl Meets World" cancellation after Season 2 may not be true at all, as actress Rowan Blanchard recently hinted several details about Season 3 during an interview with TVLine. Blanchard revealed that the love triangle between Lucas, Maya and Riley may be explored during the show's upcoming season.
"If you go back in Season 1, there are certain lines that Lucas says to Maya or Maya says to Lucas... and it's so obvious they have feelings for each other. I don't know what's going to happen in Season 3, but for me, this all feels natural," she said.
The actress also hinted that the "Girl Meets World" Season 2 finale will be "very interesting," as Lucas, Maya and Riley leave middle school and enter a new phase of life aka high school.
