'Dragon Ball Super' Episode 20 Review: Most Scenes are Pretty Odd and Familiar; Episode 21 'The Revenge' of Frieza Begins

"Dragon Ball Super" anime series is making its fans all perked up each passing episode. But the scenes in episode 20 of "DBS" were pretty familiar with the last episode.

From the report of Attack of the Fanboy, the online magazine says that "Dragon Ball Super" episode 20 has been concluded this week. Fans learned that Jaco came to earth to warn the earthlings of Frieza's coming.

However, it has been noted that there is nothing much in episode 20 of "Dragon Ball Super." Most of the issues were pretty much the same last week. According to the report, it's "an odd pace and too much recycled content from the Resurrection F animated movie."

This is contrary to what has been observed last week that "Dragon Ball Super" is actually fast-paced compared to "Dragon Ball Z." This observation was mentioned in a previous report by Master Herald.

Going back to "Dragon Ball Super" episode 20, the first half of the series featured more of Frieza and his preparation for his arrival. It is also noted that most of the conversation among characters and even the scenes were closely similar to last week's episode.

Reports also mentioned that episode 30 of "Dragon Ball Super" was unable to address the time skips. Looking back at the movie, it took several months before Frieza returned to earth. The DBS' present episode failed to explain the time frame, which the critic found annoying.

Perhaps the important scene that was being revealed was the coming of Jaco to earth. The slight difference that happened in "Dragon Ball Super" which didn't occur in the movie was the meeting of Jaco, Trunks and Goten. The online mag also stated that it's unfortunate that Jaco's character had not been built up properly in the episode. Those who are not familiar with his character have to read the manga.

As it was bluntly written by the critic on Attack of the Fanboy, the flaw found in the "Dragon Ball Super" episode 20 was that "a lot of stuff seemed to have been rushed and glossed over." In addition, the recycled content appeared to be a repetition as well as superfluous to watch.

As Krank magazine put it, the episode was quite disappointing. The site hopes that in episode 21, "Dragon Ball Super" will already feature the battle of Frieza, Goku and Vegeta.

IBTimes reports that the preview of DBS' episode 21 reveals that Frieza has landed on Earth already together with his 1000-strong army. It is also noted that the five Z fighters were also gearing up into action. But then, it looks like taking down the 1000 army is a "real uphill task for them."

What is your verdict of "Dragon Ball Super" episode 20? Do you have any expectations for the upcoming episode of DBS?
