The yet-to-be-released Samsung Galaxy A9 has new specification leaks, with recent reports revealing that the flagship will contain Snapdragon 620 chipset.
Rumors about the Samsung Galaxy A9 first surfaced back in September but no announcements were made by the Korean tech giant regarding the flagship. However, the GeekBench 3 database, a trusted site, has recently posted information about the upcoming Galaxy A9.
According to VR-Zone, Samsung Galaxy A9 appeared on GeekBench list under the actual model of the device which is SM-A9000. The processor listed for the mobile phone model is Octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 620 MSM8976 SoC. It also has four ARM Cortex-A53 and ARM Cortex-A72 cores.
Under the GeekBench benchmark, the Snapdragon 620 is almost as advanced as the Snapdragon 820 processor. Therefore, if A9 really contains such chipset, it will be very competitive as far as performance is concerned.
Aside from the Snapdragon 620 processor, the smartphone will also boast a 3GB RAM similar to its predecessor, Samsung Galaxy A7. The sample A9 phone tested by GeekBench includes the 5.1.1 Lollipop Android operating system. Therefore, it is safe to presume that the once the flagship is released, it will be equipped with the mentioned Android OS, Softpedia reported. It also will have an Adreno 510 graphics processing unit.
The released specs of the phablet did not include the type of display it will be donning but some reports speculate that Samsung Galaxy A9 might have a 6-inch capacitive touchscreen display. However, based on BenchGeek, the phone will only be having a 5.5-inch screen display. On the other hand, the phone's display is said to have a 1080p resolution and can support a full HD.
The Samsung Galaxy A9 is only one among the A series mobile phones the Korean company is planning to release. There are no reports yet regarding the other features of the A9 but prospective buyers and users are hoping that Samsung will soon give an official announcement.
