"Clash of Clans" developers is revamping the game's shield system in a major way and a sneak peek from Supercell indicates that Town Halls should be put inside the defence.
Town Hall can be kept outside the walls if the player wants to preserve gold and elixir for an upcoming upgrade -- because some players attack the Town Hall first to get trophies, the player got to save a huge amount of resources. In addition, the player get a 12-hour shield time. But with the new shield system, that would not be the case anymore.
According to Supercell, with the upcoming COC update, Town Hall destruction will no longer grant a shield. Hence, the player should bring Town Hall inside. "[We] realize this is a core part of many gameplay strategies. However, this change is part of a much bigger package that supports existing gameplay strategies in new ways - ways that are fairer, better balanced, more flexible, more fun, and more about what makes Clash the game it is: battle," the developer explained.
When the attacker deployed less than 50 percent of maximum army capacity, no shield will be given regardless of how much damage was done. "Leaving the Town Hall outside to get "sniped" will become an incredibly poor idea," Supercell further said.
Meanwhile, the changes in shields will enable players to attack even when they are still shielded. Instead of losing the entire shield, attacking would cost three hours of shield time. The amount of deduction will increase for the subsequent attacks.
"Clash of Clans" announced in October during the ClashCon that major updates are happening to the game. New Town Hall 11, new defense structure and a new hero are going to be introduced. Supercell has promised a two-week sneak peek schedule, beginning Nov. 23, before the actual release, which many believe to be on Dec. 7.
