NBA Trade Rumors & Updates: Miami Heat Wants Sacramento Kings’ DeMarcus Cousins to Swap with Hassan Whiteside

The Miami Heat wants to acquire DeMarcus Cousins even if the Sacramento Kings is in a big mess. Will the situation between Cousins and head coach George Karl help to pursue the trade?

The Sacramento Kings is in hot water and has not really coped up to start the 2015-16 NBA season. Although the Miami Heat was giving a window to trade Hassan Whiteside to the Kings, it was up until now an option.

According to Australia Network News, Cousins is not in good terms with Karl. Cousins allegedly delivered an expletive-laden tirade to their head coach after their team's loss to the San Antonio Spurs on Nov. 9.

Things are not good with the Sacramento Kings as they are still in the bottom three of the Western Conference with a 5-9 record. If this mess won't be fixed as soon as possible, there is a chance that the team owner Vivek Ranadivé and GM Vlade Divac might either fire Karl or trade Cousins, or do both.

Cousins has averaged 27.5 points along with 11.1 rebounds in eight games with the Sacramento Kings. Hassan Whiteside, on the other hand, averaged a solid 15.0 points and 11.3 rebounds in 11 games with the Miami Heat. He is also becoming the team's rim protector and defensive presence with 4.5 blocks per game.

According to Yibada, Cousins is definitely an upgrade over Whiteside in terms of statistics, but Whiteside's success under Erik Spoelstra's system makes him a better player for the team.

However, Vivek Ranadivé, Sacramento Kings' owner is known to be a Cousins fanatic and it looks like no team could offer the owner enough to allow Cousins to leave his team anytime soon. This also means that Karl is more likely to be evicted from the team compared to Cousins.
