"One Piece" Manga Ranks No. 1 in 2015 Manga Sales in Japan

Fans of Eiichiro Oda's "One Piece" manga must have been rejoicing upon hearing the news that it has hailed as the number 1 manga in Japan. The ranking is not based on nomination or fan's vote, but it is based on annual sales.

From the collated report of Robot 6 Comic Book Resources, it states that "One Piece" is the king of manga sales. Report says that "continuing its seven-year streak, Eiichiro Oda's pirate adventure 'One Piece' was the bestselling manga in Japan in 2015."

Crunchyroll reports that Oricon has finally announced the result of "2015 best-selling book annual rankings." This data compiling company is responsible in "providing data for the Japanese music/book industry."

Oricon specializes in collecting this type of data, and normally compiles the collected facts from December 1, 2014 and November 30, 2015. Based on its released information, Eiichiro Oda's "One Piece" still retains its crown being the bestselling manga in the sales ranking.

As noted, it has been 7 years that "One Piece" holds the number 1 spot in the manga sales ranking since 2009. Looking at the figures, "the series sold an impressive 14,102,521 copies during the period, which was 18 percent up from 2014 (11,885,957), since it released four volumes in the 2015 count (76th to 79th), while three in the 2014 (73rd to 75th)."

Crunchyroll also states this year's best-selling book annual ranking is also surprising for "The Seven Deadly Sins." If remembered, Nakaba Suzuki's manga was on its 9th place in the 2014 ranking. But this year, it jumped to the 2nd place. The 2nd rank was once occupied by Hajime Isayama's "Attack on Titan." This year's estimated sales had gone up to 10,304,112, which was "2.2 times more than last year's 4,633,246."

Eiichiro Oda's "One Piece" has 4 volumes that occupied the first 4 ranks in 2015 Manga Sales Ranking Top 25 (volume). Rank one is One Piece 76 with 3,185,018 sales, followed by One Piece 77 with 3,020,137 sales, rank three is One Piece 78 with 2,977,466, and rank four is One Piece 79 with 2,810,583.
