'The Young And The Restless' Casting Update: Lachlan Buchanan Is Returning As Kyle Abbott Soon

"The Young and The Restless" spoilers tease that Lachlan Buchanan is set to return to the CBS soap opera as Kyle Abbott. Last October, it was reported that Buchanan was dropped to a recurring role after joining the cast of "Y&R" in February of this year. Buchanan was the third actor to take on the role of Kyle.

According to Soap Opera Spy, Kyle's role has been "falling short" over the years and no matter who the producers cast for the said character it still does not work. It is possible that there is no chemistry with the actors portraying the role or something is really wrong with the storylines about Kyle.

It has been over a month already since the last time Kyle was seen in Genoa City. Lachlan's character did not get any exit or big send off, he just suddenly disappeared from the storyline.

Recently, one of Lachlan's Twitter followers asked him "What ever happened to you on 'Y&R'?" Lachlan gave a brief answer and said "I'm coming back soon!!!"

Buchanan did not give more information other than the reply he made and with that, a lot of his fans and the show's followers are already curious about his come back.

Reportedly, "The Young and The Restless" film their scenes only a few weeks in advance and if Lachlan was already able to film a few scenes then it is possible that Kyle is set to come back in the coming month or so.

Up to this point it is still unclear what scenes Kyle will appear on but given the holiday season then most likely he will be Summer Newman's date for parties and family events. It is also possible that the writers and producers will come up with a new storyline to make Kyle's comeback a big one.
