'Indiana Jones' Fifth Film Confirmed; Steven Spielberg Says No To Recasting, Harrison Ford Stays

Yes there were rumors that there will be a fifth "Indiana Jones" film, there were false new casting announcements, but now it has finally been confirmed. And, according to CinemaBlend.com, we have cinematographer Janusz Kaminski to thank for that information.

Cinemablend reported that Variety has made a list of Kaminski's career background, and "it was flippantly revealed that Kaminski's 'next project is the upcoming fifth Indiana Jones movie'."

Award-winning Steven Spielberg has quashed rumors that in case another Indiana Jones installment will be filmed, he might recast. Spielberg announced he is sticking with his original lead actor, Harrison Ford.

Slash Film reported that Spielberg may film a fifth installment for "Indiana Jones". And, the same report highlighted that there will be no recasting for the upcoming "Indiana Jones" movie.

Spielberg explained that if they decided to have another star to do the lead role, Disney and Lucasfilm will have a hard time finding another actor to equal the level of charisma Harrison Ford originally created for the character.

"I don't think anyone could replace Harrison as Indy. I don't think that's ever going to happen. It's certainly not my intention to ever have another actor step into his shoes in the way there have been many actors that have played Spider-Man or Batman," he added, "There is only going to be one actor playing Indiana Jones, and that's Harrison Ford."

Spielberg also answered fans' questions regarding the fifth installment of the franchise and why the need to have another one. He said, "Because there are more adventures out there than films. So as long as there's more adventures out there, I've got a bullwhip, a fedora, a leather jacket and a man on a horse who know how to get the job done."

Harrison Ford told The Guardian about making another "Indiana Jones" film. "Yeah, I'd love to do another Indiana Jones. A character that has a history and a potential, kind of a rollicking good movie ride for the audience, Steven Spielberg as a director -- what's not to like?"
