Did the Duggar Family Cost Sarah Palin Her Job? Palin Defends the Duggars! [WATCH]

Last June, former Alaska governor Sarah Palin was fired from Fox News as their contributor and commentator. This week, Palin finally opened up about her being axed from the network, and it seems that the Duggar family has something to do with it.

"Some things happened that I haven't talked about publicly, things like getting canned from a job I really liked, sort of out of the blue, because I called somebody out," she told CBN. "Next morning I got word, 'Oh, we no longer need you anymore.'"

It can be remembered that on Palin's last appearance on Fox News, she called out Fox correspondent Megyn Kelly for "re-victimizing" Jill and Jessa Duggar by interviewing them about Josh's molestation scandals, which, according to her, happened many years ago.

The 51-year-old political and media personality, who has had her share of personal controversies, also criticized the media for being "hypocritical" and having double standards. She blasted the media for hyping the Duggar controversy while praising other celebrities who are outspoken about their liberal sexual preferences.

"[Actress Lena Dunham] has been rewarded with fame and fortune for admitting to her sexual predation with her own sister, that she used her own little sister for her sexual experiments and sexual outlets. And the media just has a great big yawn for covering she or others that we have heard about on the liberal side," she commented. "And yet they try to crucify an entire family for a 14-year-old boy's issue that he had 12 years ago."

Furthermore, Palin defended the Duggar family from Josh's molestation charges.

"The release of these confidential records is, it's tragic, it's illegal, it's unethical," Palin said. "Why isn't the dialogue going right now towards 'Hey, let's get that law enforcement official he or her who released this file?' It was confidential. You know it was [released] for political reasons."

According to Mediaite, Palin's comments "seemed like a very clear yet indirect swipe at a Fox News anchor from one of its own contributors." This reportedly led to Fox's decision to let the controversial former governor go.

However, Palin insists that she harbors no ill feelings towards Fox.

"They're a private enterprise," she said. "They can fire someone for wearing the wrong color tie that day -- that's their prerogative and I've been on both sides of the hiring and firing."

Meanwhile, the "re-victimized" Duggar family has consciously decided to go back into the limelight, as Jill and Jessa are set to premiere their own reality series. Entitled "Jill & Jessa: Counting On," the three-part special will premiere on Dec. 13 on TLC.
