Sarah Michelle Gellar and Freddie Prinze Jr. sell Bel Air home for $4.92 million

Celebrity couple Sarah Michelle Gellar (of "Scooby Doo" fame) and Freddie Prinze Jr. (of "She's All That" fame) have reportedly sold off their Bel Air home for $4.92 million.

The Wall Street Journal broke the news of the sale citing real estate agent Cindy Ambuehl of Partners Trust.

The residence hit the market with a $5.49 million price tag. The couple listed it after they decamped to their Brentwood home, which they also recently put up for sale with an asking price of 7.9 million.

Gellar and Prinze purchased Bel Air's Crest area residence in 2001 for $2.45 million and seemed to have made a good profit off the sale.

"This house has custom features throughout and sits on a park-like setting," agent Ambuehl told The Hollywood Reporter when the home was listed. "It's an extremely large property and will suit a lot of buyers."

It definitely did because the home sold just two months after it came up on the market.

Listing records at Realtor.com show that the home was "de-listed" May 28, which could be the day the home closed on the deal. Buyers have not been identified.

The single-family home spans an area of 7,620 square feet and has five bedrooms with four-and-a-half bathrooms. Sitting on a 0.42 acre lot, the house was built in 1991 and has undergone extensive makeovers standing to its current glory. The couple themselves renovated it twice.

Interiors of the double-storey residence feature hardwood and tiled flooring with drywall ceilings and French doors and windows. Some of its exclusive amenities include dressing rooms, a gym, a sun room, a bonus room and a library. A family room and separate dining area are also available inside.

Outside, the home has a private patio, a backyard swimming pool, a fire pit and ample lounging area.

Gellar became immensely popular with her stints in "The Crazy Ones", "Bufy the Vampire Slayer" and the live action version of "Scooby Doo"- where she and Prinze portrayed on-screen couple "Daphne and Fred."

More recently, Gellar posted a throwback Thursday photo with her "Scooby Doo" co-star Isla Fischer, who is now married to "Borat" actor Sacha Baron Cohen.

Cohen also has his Hollywood Hills home up for rent, asking $85,000 a month. Read more on the property here.
