"The Flash" season 2 winter finale saw the introduction of another beloved DC character: Wally West, aka Kid Flash.
In a recent interview with Variety, Keiynan Lonsdale, who plays the role of Wally West, answered some questions regarding his character's addition to "The Flash" season 2. Wally made his debut appearance in the hit CW series during its winter finale on Tuesday night.
According to the Australian actor, who is not at liberty to divulge too much information, the arrival of Wally will prove a little bit challenging for the West family.
"It's a big thing for them all, and going forward it's not going to be super easy. They're going to have to go through some stuff to get to a good place," said the 23-year-old actor.
Lonsdale also mentioned that Wally, having just found out that he has a family, will be very cautious and will let his guard way up. This will definitely cause some friction in the West family but in the end, his being defensive will also be the thing that will unite him with his father Joe West (Jesse L. Martin), and his older sister Iris (Candice Patton).
Meanwhile, Barry/The Flash (Grant Gustin) will have some rivalry with Wally, not because both are speedsters but more so because Barry somehow has taken Wally's position in the family, noted Den of Geek. In addition, the two characters according to Lonsdale are very different from each other so it will be difficult for them to be on the same page at all times.
There are no talks yet whether Wally will assume his alter-ego as Kid Flash in "The Flash" season 2 but he will be seen interacting with Team Flash in a few instances, the Aussie actor confirmed. Wally will eventually join the team as the other speedster superhero but viewers will have to wait for a bit longer since the production is focusing on making the character settle into his Central City family for now.
