The latest installment of the "Far Cry" series has been announced earlier this year by Ubisoft to have a release date next year. Now, "Far Cry Primal" will be available on the PC platform on March 1, 2016.
Ubisoft's "Far Cry Primal" will be released on February 23, 2016 for PS4 and Xbox One and will be followed shortly by the PC version. However, early reviewers of the game have said that the PC version is almost the same as the previous game of the series, as Gamespot noticed.
Fans have noted that the latest game of the series will be back in Stone Age, but nothing was expecting a very similar game from the previous releases. It seems like Ubisoft just applied a new coat of paint on Far Cry 4" then released it as Far Cry Primal." One cited example is, during the first few minutes of the Stone Age game, one can reminisce the Himalaya's of Far Cry 4.
However, "Far Cry Primal" has taken away the concept that a first person shooter game should always involve guns. This time, it will only arrows, spears, knives and axes which are made out of wood and stone, and other weapons common to the earliest frontier. Ubisoft is aiming for a fresh air to breath.
In a more basic way, "Far Cry Primal" can be said to be "old ideas, on a new package." Ubisoft has tried hard to give players a different plate to feed on, with the same kind of food. Commonly, games like this moves forward into the future, and Ubisoft decided to move backwards in time, as Ars Technica explained.
The game revolves around a character named Takkar, who has the ability to tame and control wild beasts of the very ancient world. These animals can be commanded to attack hostile enemies or other wild beast, and includes wolves, bears, owls and the dreaded saber toothed tigers. Unfortunately, one wild beast can be controlled at any given time.
