The roster of fighters for Nintendo's "Super Smash Bros." continues to grow with Cloud Strife soon to join the great brawl. But new rumors suggest that "Final Fantasy VII" protagonist Cloud Strife is not the only one coming very soon.
Ever since "Final Fantasy VII's" Buster Sword swinging Cloud Strife was confirmed joining Nintendo's "Super Smash Bros.," fans could not stop asking when. As previously reported, the leakster @Chalexiss, who had spread via Twitter the news that the new fighter might be released as a downloadable character on Dec. 3, has faced a lot of criticism from the impatient fans.
To clear things out, the latest report found in N4BB states that the release date for Cloud Strife and the special Midgar stage has not been announced yet.
As with the release date and other things pertaining to "Super Smash Bros." many are hopeful that more would be revealed once the next Nintendo Direct is delivered. According to N4BB, Nintendo has previously stated that there will be another Nintendo Direct happening this month and that it will be specially dedicated to "Super Smash Bros." This Direct is said to be the last one to be Smash Bros.-specific. And since it is specially dedicated to the fighting game, it is expected that there will be truckloads of revelations.
Hopefully, the said upcoming direct would clear out these rumors that now suggest that Shovel Knight, and other characters, might also be joining the list of fighters. For those who are not in the loop, Shovel Knight is from the 2D game of the same title from Nintendo. According to Master Herald, after a "Fighter Ballot" that ended on Oct. 3, Shovel Knight was one of the seven popular choices. However, Shovel Knight in its current 2D platform is not readily playable for the "Super Smash Bros." system.
