"DOTA 2" has become such a big name in e-sports that just like other games, its fans have become more vigilant for any leaks.
The last known major update was Update 6.85. As previously reported, it was aimed at balancing the game along with changes to the game's homepage on steam as well as nerfing and buffing a group of "DOTA 2" heroes. Patch 6.85 went live a month before Frankfurt Major in November, produced by ESL.
There has been a report that patch notes for "DOTA 2" Update 6.86 may have been leaked. According to JoinDOTA, the circulating leaked patch notes suggests that major changes will be given to the Radiant jungle. And while the leaked notes did not suggest any additional heroes, the Earth Spirit and Oracle are rumored to be playable after patch 6.86.
According to GosuGamers, DOTA 2 Game Designer going by the name "IceFrog" has announced via "DOTA 2" Dev forums "We decided it was better to limit the scope of 6.85 to mostly balance improvements in order to release the update sooner. We'll be aiming to release 6.86 with bigger changes some period after the upcoming Major (Fall Major)."
Are these so called leaked "changes" that are currently making rounds on the internet the ones that "IceFrog" were referring to back in September? According to JoinDOTA the alleged changes will affect heroes Windranger, Tusk, Mirana and Crystal Maiden. For Windranger, after patch 6.86 her skill known as the "Shackleshot" will end if one of the units becomes unshackled or dies, or when the tree is destroyed. Shackleshot cooldown will also become longer at 14 seconds up from 12.
With the said patch, Tusks "Ice Shards" will no longer provide any vision, his snowball speed will be reduced from 675 to 500/550/600/650 and his "Walrus Kick" damage will be upped from 200 to a 275% critical strike. Mirana might be happy with patch 6.85 as "Moonlight Shadow" duration becomes doubled when cast at night and it will apply even to illusions.
Lastly but not the list, Update 6.86 for Crystal Maiden will get her "Arcane Aura" mana regeneration skill increased from 1/1.5/2/2.5 to 1/1.75/2.5/3.25 while Self mana regeneration will be increased to 2/3.5/5/6.5. Arcane Aura will increase Crystal Maiden's intelligence by 3/5/7/9.
