The next flagship smartphone from the Taiwanese tech company, HTC Corporation, is called HTC Perfume.
Leakster @LlabTooFeR, who usually brings reliable spills, has leaked that HTC's new phone will be called HTC Perfume, running on Android 6.1 Marshmallow operating system and Sense 8.0. @LlabTooFeR said the previously reported codename HTC O2 flagship device has been scrapped and replaced with Perfume.
@LlabTooFeR wrote on Twitter, "Remember reports about next HTC's flagship codename HTC O2? It's dead... HTC Perfume is next flagship. Android 6.1 and Sense 8.0_GP."
Could it be that HTC Perfume is also just a codename and is actually the rumored HTC O2 renamed?
A GSM Arena reader commented, "Perfume is just a codename like Hima was for the M9. Obviously it wont be called HTC Perfume after it is launched. Most probably it will be called the M10. I hope they stick with the 5' screen."
According to Focus Taiwan, a report from Technobuffalo has revealed that the new HTC device will be released in the first quarter of 2016. It is equipped with Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor and the company's Sense 8.0 user interface. The battery is 3,500 mAh and 4 GB RAM. The primary camera is 20.7 megapixel, while the front camera is 5 megapixels. Coming at 6 inches, the display has a resolution of Quad HD 1440 x 2560. Other rumored features include a heart rate sensor and fingerprint scanning for security and payment features.
There's still a lot to confirm about this presumed HTC Perfume. For one, Google is yet to announce when the Android 6.1 Marshmallow will be released, and the same goes for Sense 8.0_GP. The speculations are that they will be revealed perhaps in time for the Mobile World Congress to be held in Barcelona, Spain on Feb. 22 to 25, 2016.
