'The Little Mermaid' Movie Update: Ariel In Upcoming Film Not Red-Head; Studio Wants Modern Ariel, Chloe Moretz Says

"The Little Mermaid" movie is another upcoming treat from Disney, which a lot of fans are waiting for. Previous reports stated that Chloe Moretz will play the role of Ariel.

"Carrie" actor Moretz is thrilled to begin working with Disney in the live-action film. The actress shared with E! News, "I think it's a plethora of things. I'm excited, I'm nervous. I'm just excited to show something that I've loved for such a long time and in a different modern light."

As "The Little Mermaid" movie preparation, Moretz said she is required to undergo some training first. This will happen while the whole production is getting set, and will probably last for a month. In addition, this will also be a test of her capability to do underwater scenes.

Ariel from the original "The Little Mermaid" animated move with the same title was known for her famous red locks. Rumors suggested at first that the actress is not willing to dye her hair and so insisted that she keeps her blonde hair, Comic Book reported.

Contrary to the reports, the "Kick-Ass" actress said that she does want the red hair. However, it is the studio that makes other plans of having a more modern and revisionist version of the character, which they described as progressive for young women in this day and age. With this news fans can expect some difference in Ariel as opposed to what we've been used to, specifically with dealing with life issues and love interest.

Moretz also revealed that Disney's production team already began working. While there are not very many information at hand regarding the upcoming live-action film, "The Little Mermaid," the actress openly revealed some information, such as the detail that Richard Curtis is the script writer.

"The Little Mermaid" rumors are also going around that the original story, which was written by Hans Christian Andersen, depicts Ariel with a blonde hair and an incredibly beautiful voice.
