Nexus Mods is a gaming website that has more than 200 games. Users have warned gamers about a possible data breach. The reddit username is REN-ISAAC, he said that there is a group of students who had their credentials hacked for Nexus mods.com.
A Reddit player who works for a College Institute put up a copy of the email telling gamers about the hacked credentials.
The reliable source said ,"Nexusmods.com does not do any password complexity enforcement other than [when] it is between 3 and 32 characters," wrote REN-ISAC before adding that the emails and passwords "are out on the Internet in criminal circles."
Even though gamers of reddit still has to verify the email from the Ohio State University about the Nexus hack, other gamers from other universities plane they had also gotten breach notifications.
A Reddit user claimed that after the Nexus Mod PSA, the PSN account was also hacked. The hacker allegedly changed the password. Another Reddit user got an email from the same sender, requesting if a password reset has been asked. Yet another user reported a case had attempted to get her to write the account and Hamble bundle.
Nexus owner Robin Scott also known as "Dark One" suggested gamers to change passwords, then save the database after the first confirmation about the hack. He confirmed that all passwords saved in the database warehouse, although he gave no more details about it. Not all passwords are secured and and some security measures are easier to track at the same time. The Nexus password security policy then needs any special character or number and the password to only have three characters. Scott said Nexus mode tends to get it to complete network not just premium member payment pages server through an encrypted SSL connection and supporting elements authentication.
