"The Flash" has just aired its ninth episode of the second season and will now be on a holiday break. However, they did not fail to bring excitement to the fans. A certain Wally West (Keiynan Lonsdale), arrived in Joe's place and introduced himself as his son. Now the episode shows a classic relationship between the real son and the adopted son.
The "Wally West" character introduction was altered from the comics. Wally West was supposed to be the nephew of Iris, but the show runner decided to change it a bit. Going back, Wally was unknown to Joe. Candice, Joe's wife, was already carrying Wally when they parted ways. Now Wally West is all grown up, and he simply walks into the doorstep of Joe, Iris and Barry's place, and introduces himself, Variety reported.
"The Flash" episode nine, shows a little tension between Wally West and Barry Allen (Grant Gustin). They have actually been both "The Flash" in the comics; Wally is the first "Kid Flash" and Barry Allen is the third "Flash," and this may be the reason for the friction. However, the latest episode shows Wally West is reluctant to make friends this soon.
"So that's another family member that Wally's kind of forced to have, but Barry isn't his blood, you know? And because Barry is such a nice guy and a good guy, that can be more frustrating for Wally. He doesn't want to let a lot of people in, and ... as cool as Barry is, Wally doesn't want to let him in. So that creates this kind of cool little sibling rivalry, in a sense, at least from Wally's point of view, without admitting it. I don't think he would admit that to himself. It's going to be quite funny," Lonsdale explained in the interview.
"The Flash" episode nine will also show the speedster fighting it out again with three of his former foes, Captain Cold, Weather Wizard, and James Jesse, Ecumenical News reported.
"The Flash" will return on CW in Jan. 19 at 8 p.m.
