Three Common iOS 9, iOS 9.1, iOS 9.2 Update Issues and How To Fix Them

Apple last week officially rolled out the iOS 9.2 update for iPhone, iPad and iPod, bringing a range of security patch, bug fixes and features improvement. However, there are still problems that many users experience with the latest update.

We've gathered three most common issues with iOS 9, iOS 9.1, iOS 9.2 and how to fix them. Read on:

Installation Problem

Some users reported problems downloading the firmware right after it was released. Blorge recommends to wait for a couple of days to download the iOS 9 update software. This way, the servers are not busy as there are not as many users trying to get the update at the same time.

Also ensure that there is enough space on your device. The firmware is around 1.3GB in size, so you may need to free up some storage space before you download the update. This will avoid the update to get interrupted because of insufficient space.

If your device freezes while updating, GottaBeMobile says to hold down the power button and the home button at the same time for 10 seconds to push-start the process.

Touch ID Failure

There are instances when the fingerprint no longer works after the device has been updated. While this would usually needed to be fixed directly by Apple, GottaBeMobile shared some options to try. First is by restarting your device; just hold down the power button and the home button simultaneously for 10 seconds.

Another one is by re-training your Touch ID. Go to Settings > Touch ID & Passcode > Enter your passcode then delete the added fingerprint/s and add new fingerprint/s. Ensure that your fingers are clean (not oily or sweaty), as well as the Touch ID sensor.

If the above fix did not work, the last resort is to do a factory reset. Remember that this will erase all your data and settings, so you might to back up all your important data. To reset, go to Settings > General > Reset > Erase All Content and Settings.

Wi-Fi Connectivity Issue

This is a rather persistent issue in iOS, says Tech News Today. This can be solved by resetting your Network Settings, which can take a couple of minutes. Simply go to Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings. Once done, all the saved Wi-Fi connections will be forgotten. Another option is to forget a connection. Go to Settings > Wi-Fi > Select connection > Forget this Network. These are proven solutions that work, but if not, check Apple's guide as well.
